~**** AIDS WALK NEW YORK *****~ ------------ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT TO SPONSOR!!!------

ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT…Please help me reach my goal.

Dear Friends and Family;

Most of you already know that I will be participating in the AIDS WALK NEW YORK this Sunday May 17, 2009.
>>CLICK HERE TO GO TO MY DONATION PAGE<<
The walk starts in Central Park up to W110th Street and then continues down Riverside Drive to W74th Street and then ends back in Central Park.

This isn’t your every day walk in the park - it is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) and takes roughly 2-3 hours to complete.

I have set my goal at $1000; which is double what I raised last year. Currently I am at 25% of that goal. Many of you have expressed interest in pledging or may have already done so, however we are down to the last 5 days and it’s time to help make a difference.

The Dash Poem by Linda Ellis

The Dash

by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning ... to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars ... the house ... the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spent our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile ...
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash,
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?

IMHO..Probably the most hilarious scene from the whole FRIENDS series. Jennifer Anniston was unable to keep a straight face. Priceless!

AIDS WALK NEW YORK CITY 2006

Sunday May 21, 2006
THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY SPONSORED ME AND TO THOSE THAT ARE STILL PENDING.

My Goal is $500 and I am pretty sure that I will reach that by June 16th which is the FINAL cutoff for donations to sponsor me. So if you have not done so already, please visit my donations page NOW:)!

What a beautiful day for a 6.2 mile walk through Central Park, in spite of the weather forecasts that were calling for thunderstorms, the temperature was in the 60's sunny and breezy. However, the t-storms did come later in the afternoon though. Charlie and I arrived around 8:30am, (8:50am JST, Joe Standard Time), turned in our donations and proceeded to the main stage. Richard Thomas had just been introduced and he spoke for a few minutes and was shortly joined by Avenue Q's Barret Foa and Rod Roddy. Although the three of them only interacted for several minutes it was pretty funny and it concluded with Rod kissing John Boy.

After sticking around the stage for some other performers and corporate sponsors we moved onto the Awards tent and then most importantly, the snack area. I was impressed by variety of free food that AWNY provided. Fresh fruit, endless bottles of water, Paul Newman's Lemonade and Iced Tea, Coconut Water (gross), Cereal bars and cookies.

Officially, the walk started at 10am and we started walking around that time. The route took us through Central Park and out to 11oth Street. It continued west on 11oth to Riverside Drive south to W74th and east back to Central Park.
